Christantus Uche Fuels Straightforward Crystal Palace Triumph at Shelbourne.

Despite embarking on their maiden continental adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are learning at a rapid pace. Without key figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a commanding win that all but secures them a spot in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.

A further three points in their upcoming match against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to secure straight passage to the last 16, especially after a prior setback against Strasbourg.

Fringe Players Seize the Moment

This occasion provided a platform for several Palace's lesser-used players to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning since arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a well-taken goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, scoring for the second game in match.

The Shelbourne team that had finished their league season proved outmatched even for a largely rotated Palace outfit. The Londoners were already depleted by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg problems.

The match was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of comically weak challenges before coolly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw several players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring his very first touch, but saw his effort blocked.

Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also missed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still room for improvement in his game.

A solitary concern for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
