I'll overwhelm 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" the American as the two fighters met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's largest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual stare-down, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really proceeding.
